The extracts below were designed by Academy members during their time with us. Online Academy is running all year long, offering Legal Design Challenges for members to practice their skills, build their portfolios and develop a strong network around the world.

Antonella Puntriano (Peru) wanted to do an experiment by applying the methodology to make a newly adopted law establishing extraordinary provisions for debt rescheduling and freezing (Act No. 31050, in Peru) easier to understand. She tested the new design and got extremely positive responses. This has led her now to start a new project redesign the Constitution of her country in Peru.

"We always talk about the Legal Design for the private sector, but this time I wanted to do an experiment for Virtual Open House at Legal Creatives and applied this methodology to make a new law easier to understand. For this particular case, "Law Establishing Extraordinary Provisions for Debt Rescheduling and Freezing" (Act No. 31050), Peru - Antonella Puntriano

Julian Cornelius and Arnaud Cervera involved conceptualising and developing a prototype ODR Process/App, with a focus on the "amicable stage" of the process. The goal was to create an MVP that is easily adaptable across different fields of legal practice. In line with this goal, Julian and Arnaud were able to create a simple online environment for case generation, information exchange, and finally agreement.

CREATE YOUR OWN SOLUTION

Larissa Lima worked on a mockup situation about hiring an intern who is not a law student. She wanted to make the contract in a language that is very accessible of the intern. With a side-bar, the intern can find important information quickly: The schedule and pay is more visible, including the dates. Using icons, Larissa wanted to show the objectives, and commitment of the intern, including a possibility to terminate the contract. She used the psychology of colors throughout the document.
